British Canoeing Kit Launch 2017

It’s not often a planned photoshoot can be done in short sleeved garments (especially in the UK); as you can see from the pictures, the guys and girls were revelling in the amazing weather conditionsThe team for 2017 is a mixture of familiar faces with some young talent. David Florence (C1) and Fiona Pennie (K1) take up the mantles of ‘veterans’ of the squad whilst reigning Olympic Champion Joe Clarke keeps his K1 position. Mallory Franklin and Kim Woods continue to show off their skills in two categories (K1 & C1) whilst Eilidh Gibson also maintains her C1 team status. David’s team mates for 2017 in the C1 category are Ryan Wesley and Adam Burgess whilst Bradley Forbes-Cryans has established himself as a senior team regular again with 2017 spot in K1. The youngest member of the team and making his debut for 2017 Senior team in K1 is Chris Bowers. At a team meeting after the morning's paddling session Chris was presented with a special congratulatory prize from British Canoeing Head Coach, Mark Ratcliffe, and Peak UK's Director, Pete Astles, for his amazing achievement. Chris is certainly someone to keep an eye out for this year at the Snr European Champs, World Cups and World Championships, after his demonstration of superb paddling under pressure at the team selection series earlier in the year. We’d like to wish the whole 2017 team all the best for the up coming season! ...
