Slalom's best Newcomer Awards 2022

Introducing this years slalom newcomer award winners....



Eiri O’Connor 2022

Eiri has been paddling since she was 8 years old, training with Llandysul Paddlers. Competing in K1 slalom has become her passion. At the beginning of the 2022 season she had bib 5 in division 2. The first two races of the season were at Symonds Yat where she won both these races confidently. The third win and promotion to Division 1 came in the following race at Shepperton. An early promotion to Division 1 meant that she was still only 12 years old and enjoying training with the Canoe Cymru squad and making steady progress in Division 1.

Eiri’s favourite places to paddle include Tryweryn and Grandtully. Her highlights in Division 1 this short season year are three top 10 positions.

Harry Mckenna

Harry Started paddling in 2018 and is a keen C1 and K1 paddler whilst mixing in some WW Paddling when he can.
