It’s been a Season of travel for Team GB so far with us starting out in Tacen for World Cup 1 then Prague, Augsburg and ultimately peaking in Oklahoma for the World Championships.
So far the team have been strong across the board in all disciplines bagging multiple medals and finals with the British Kayak Cross representation being a continued successful campaign with World Cup and World Championships medals.
This year is especially poignant as it marks the start of Olympic quota qualification which is never a simple process…

Each athlete will have a total points score at the end of the 2027 season and this will determine the nations who qualify initial quota spots. It is then down to each individual nation to decide which athlete takes the place.
The Oklahoma World Championships were the start of this process with Team GB coming away with a strong start in all classes making for an exciting few months ahead. The process continues with World Cup 4 and 5 also with points being up for grabs in Paris at the 2024 Olympic site and La Seu the 1992 Olympic venue. The season will culminate in Ivrea, Italy at the European Championships marking another year in the books and another step closer to LA 2028.
