Peak PS x Circular Flow | Circular Ready
In collaboration with our partners Circular Flow, we are thrilled to the launch a series of brand new, paddlesport first, Circular Ready products. The Multi Mat, Roofrack Wraps, Mouse and Desk Mats are items made from recycled neoprene, finished with recycled polyester face fabrics and water based screen printed logos.
Neoprene products are currently not recycled on a large scale, additionally neoprene products are produced using nonrecurring materials such as rubber or limestone, the production of which generates harmful carbon emission. However there are solutions and alternatives*…
Circular Flow are at the forefront of sustainable manufacturing, as they attempt to provide a global circular economy for neoprene waste. Their mission seeks to stop millions of neoprene products ending up in landfill, Circular Flow calculate that 23,000+ tonnes of neoprene waste (including manufacturing offcuts) is either incinerated or sent to landfill annually.
Their solution is to have waste neoprene collected, cleaned, processed / stripped (zips, snap buttons and other plastic elements removed), shredded and then reconnected to produce a neoprene core material called Reneoprene®, this block can then be laminated with any desired finishing face fabric. The revolutionary element to Circular Flow’s recycling process is their ability to connect shredded neoprene particles together, without removing the textile laminates and without the use of any harmful chemicals in the process.
The properties of the Reneoprene® material are not the same as virgin (brand new) neoprene material - the characteristics do not lend itself to be used as a new neoskin garment for example, however the recycled neoprene material does boast the right qualities for other hard wearing applications.
We are very proud to bring new products and an industry leading end-of-life neoprene processing service to our Circular Ready initiative. For the past 2 years we been collecting the neoprene waste from our own custom production here in the UK, ready to send to Circular Flow to be processed into recycled neoprene. We would welcome anyone with Peak branded neoprene equipment (excluding shoes and boots) that has come to the end of its life, to return it to us to join the Circular Ready story. We will coordinate all neoprene waste from our UK premise back to Circular Flow for processing. Introducing our Circular Ready neoprene range:
The Roofrack Wraps are the perfect item for looking after your prized kayak or canoe. Available in two widths 45cm and 70cm, both with a large adjustable size range that’ll fit most roof bar styles, whether they be smaller square bars (also commonly found on trailers) to much the larger wing & chunky / slide bars. Attached with Velcro, supple yet hard wearing 5mm recycled neoprene covers, finished with recycled polyester face fabric and fresh Peak PS logos.
Looking for a multi purpose outdoor mat made from recycled neoprene that can be used as a car boot liner, change mat, open canoe kneeling mat or even knee protector whilst doing the gardening? Then the Multi Mat is the product for you. This 10mm thick recycled neoprene mat is the master of all - a highly versatile product that can be used in a variety of different applications. Existing quietly in a car boot, it can quickly be deployed to help protect paddler’s feet and dry socks in stoney car parks at the put-in. The Multi Mat can be employed as an Open Canoe kneeling mat too; four Velcro loops sewn at each corner provide the option for affixing in canoes - simply stick some heavy duty Velcro hook in place (purchased independently) and line up together. There is also a neat binding loop along one edge where a thin safety cord can be tied, should the mat come loose in rough conditions or in the event of a capsize - it will not be lost forever!
Custom Options:
We’ve made a name for ourselves during the past decade, with our ability to sublimation print high performance garments for teams, club and individuals. Now we are expanding our custom collection to include Circular Ready items. Mouse and Desk Mats, are set to brighten up your office with a unique one of custom printed mat - made from 3mm soft super supple recycled neoprene. Available is standard Mouse mat size, 20 x 25cm., and a larger bar runner style desk mat, 75 x 25cm.
Multi Mat Custom: What better way to set yourself apart at the put-in of the river or advertise your brand, than a custom printed Multi Mat. All the same great features, as the standard mat, but with the ‘stand out from the crowd’ finish of a hyper unique bespoke print. Remember “Anything is Possible..”, custom graphics, text, images, photos, textures logos.
*For future neoprene products we will utilise ever developing, More Sustainable neoprene material options. For example, our 2026 Bioskin legwear & accessory range, we will be made from a high percentage of naturally occurring, renewable sources such as natural rubber, tea stalks, vegetable oils and recycled seafood shells. Bioskin material is a low-carbon product as the raw materials are all sourced locally to our manufacturing partner, Bioskin yields a 52% reduction in carbon output when compared against the regular neoskin counterpart.
